In our institute, ifthe maximum diameter of hemangioma is larger than 5 cmortumor is growing rapidly (tumor gaining an enlargement of more than 1 cm within2 years), or the tumor is symptomatic (persistent hemangioma-related abdominalpain or discomfort with the definite exclusion of other gastrointestinaldiseases which cause the epigastric pain
viagastroscopy examinations),we would suggest patients receiving the ablation procedure. If the diagnosis ofbenign hepatic hemangiom cannot be made by image examinations, the patientsare always in anxiety and with urgent desire for a certain pathologicaldiagnosis. A biopsy combining with ablation will be highly recommended.
